A quick update.

Holy heck, so, life has been an absolute cluster. It’s been both glorious and horrible, and despite being massively behind on updates, I’m still eating my dammed salad. So, keep an eye out for something ridiculous like 2-3 weeks worth of really boring salad pictures sometime before the end of the week. (It’s not happening today, because I’m trying to get through the final project from hell… that’s due tonight, at midnight.)

A quick update.

Days 18, 19, 20, and 21 of 356 – I Feel Happy I’m Not Dead *cough cough hack wheeze* Yet

Holy hell, so, I woke up Thursday feeling a little off, but not too bad. By the time I got to Thursday afternoon I felt like I was coming down with a cold, so I took a generic DayQuil. By the time I got out of work, it felt like I was coming down with the plague (even with the generic DayQuil), perhaps multiple plagues. By Thursday evening, I had a fever/chill cycle that left me half out of it.

I seriously remember playing a tiny bit of Minecraft and telling everyone on the server that I would BRB, logging out, getting up to take some cold medicine, and then lying down for a bit due to a very nasty sinus headache, and then waking up and falling back asleep while rotating between roasting and massive chills (keep in mind that I had the heat in the house up to 75 degrees Fahrenheit) probably a dozen or so times until Friday morning, at which point I texted into work, got the okay from my boss to stay home, and then went back to sleeping, freezing and sweating through the rest of Friday, and then half of Saturday.

I thought I might feel semi decent today, which, I suppose in comparison to the last few days is kind of true, but overall I still feel surprisingly shitty. I was finally able to get up and throw some dishes in the dishwasher, a little laundry in to wash, and pay a few bills, but I’m still super exhausted (keep in mind that I slept for roughly 12 hours today), half stuffed up, and now plagued with phenominally persistent cough and the feeling that all the mucus in the world is somehow residing in my chest.

Work is going to be super fun tomorrow.

But, through it all (including the queasiness that set in Thursday afternoon), I ate my damn salad, so, behold (if nothing else, you have to give me credit for being stubborn):

Thankfully I was able to keep all of it down, although if you notice, Friday was a bit smaller than my usual serving size, simply due to the fact that I was actually pretty nauseous at that point.

Anyway, I don’t have weights and measurements recorded, simply because, well, if I’m even too sick to play Minecraft, in bed, on my laptop, there’s no way that weigh ins are going to happen.

But at least one or two are likely to happen this week as I feel better, although, with school, work, Thanksgiving, and a con that I’m going to next weekend, updates are probably going to be super short. (But on the plus side y’all might get to see some dorky con pictures.)

Day 17 of 365 – Technical Difficulties

I was so exhausted last night, that I posted my salad update to the wrong blog (in fact, the one that I’ve never actually used, other than to setup jetpack for my web design adventures with other sites), so, I’m going to have to figure out how to move it back here without making myself crazy (there’s a few options, but I’m not going to be figuring them out tonight).

Anyway, 213.8 lbs this morning, 34.25 in on my waist, and this for lunch:

Basically romaine with salsa and guacamole. Slightly better than that bowl of kale that l had a while back, at least in terms of effort. I may seriously consider hitting up a restaurant tomorrow for lunch to get something a bit more robust in and to save on dishes… but I’ve also been trying to save a bit of money, so we’ll see what happens.

Day 17 of 365 – Technical Difficulties

Day 15 of 365

Another quick one because work + school + coming up to holidays = killer.

216 lbs even this morning and 34.5″ inches on my waist.

And then a second, “Big Mac” style salad for dinner (ground beef, romaine lettuce, cheese, thousand island dressing, and a tiny bit mustard, all because there was no way I was going to stop anywhere other than the grocery).

Aside from that, I ate, I swear, all the Halloween candy in the office (probably like 10 ‘fun size’ bars of chocolate throughout the day), so, yeah, the sugar cravings were back a bit.

Overall, I’ll just be happy if I make it to Wednesday well rested and in one piece. (Sooooooo busy.) :S

Day 15 of 365

Day 13 & 14 of 365 – Week Two Wrap-up

I don’t know why the auto rotate doesn’t seem to be working, but I haven’t been able to find a fix that doesn’t take a billion years and make me feel half crazy.

I’ve considered running the photos through Instagram, but I’m also not terribly fond of the people that I know in real life actually knowing about this until I’m deeper into it. While most are great and supportive there’s a handful that would likely tend to derail the whole venture.

Plus I’d overall like to avoid weird looks and discussions over the holidays. Which is entirely what I’m likely going to get if this comes up. If being vegan for roughly five years taught me anything, it’s that people are hyper emotional about food and eating habits.

Anyway, while I didn’t weigh myself or take measurements over the weekend (it’s good to weigh and keep track of your progress, but it’s also really good to step back from it from time to time), I think I can say that my scale is working fine. I don’t know how I had my weight drop like that (because, physics), but it seems like it actually did. Granted, it could be up again after the weekend, just due to a bad Fibromyalgia flare-up that I experienced all day Saturday, and half of today. (On rare occasion, I’ll get muscle tension so bad throughout my body, it feels like I’m bruised from head to toe, even internally, like through my organs, which, unfortunately, also has a bit of a constipating effect which can last for a few days).

Other than that, I’ve noticed that I’m feeling a lot fuller, and I’ve started eating smaller meals because of it. I’ve also noticed that my sugar cravings have been a lot more reasonable. Overall though, we’ll see if it all sticks.

Day 13 & 14 of 365 – Week Two Wrap-up

This is going to be a quick one. I basically had the same thing that I did yesterday, but, due to a crazy time at work today, I didn’t remember to get a pic until halfway through lunch. I didn’t weigh myself because scale issues, but as usual I measured out at 34.5″ on my waist.

Hopefully I’ll have something a bit more insightful tomorrow.:)

Day 12 of 365

Day 11 of 365 – Kale Salad and Unruly Scale Problems

Another kale salad with a hard boiled egg and some blue cheese dressing. I’m still eating plenty of junk food, especially around work, but overall I’m craving it less, and getting less satisfaction when I do have it. This is seriously the only time my sugar cravings have been relatively manageable in about two years.

Other than that, my waist was at 34.5″ today, and I’m thinking my scale may have gone. It was registering about 214 – 215 lbs this morning, and I just don’t see how that’s possible aside from either an exodus of water weight, or scale failure. I’m going to see if I can compare it with any rogue scales that my parents might have packed away to get a baseline. (It drives me nuts that my Mom rarely cleans anything out, but sometimes it comes in handy, like when I’m half broke and need to avoid scale shopping if I can).

Aside from that my Fibromyalgia is kicking up due to weather changes and the fact that I’ve actually been drinking coffee (for me, it seems to be a trigger food). So, that’s been crappy, but also kind of course for this time of year.
